The semester was based on the integration of a new museum within existing buildings in ensemble in Torcello's Island. The island is characterised by a historical and cultural charm, landscape and architecture from V century. The main goal was to introduce the new building as part of the ensemble which was formed by two Byzantine Basilicas.
Apart from the museum, a dock and a path to get to the building were also designed. In order to create the access to the building, a concrete platform was created. This platform started in the water and it rised gradually until it reached the Archaeological Museum close to the Basilicas. The building is based on structural pieces placed with variability to create different relationships with the pre-existences located outside. It also creates different atmospheres inside the building depending on the use. The returned path in the entrance is another theme in the project which allows visitors to contemplate the landscape and the existing buildings before leaving the island.
